On May 14-15, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will host a workshop to solicit input from a broad range of stakeholders across the industrial sector to inform a new DOE analysis, Transforming Industry: Strategies for Decarbonization.
It will build upon previous publications and analyses to present the critical technologies and approaches we’ll need to pursue, in parallel, to decarbonize the industrial sector. This effort will consider the technical, economic, workforce, and supply chain challenges associated with the scale and pace of an industrial transformation, and present informed strategies for overcoming these barriers.
During this workshop, DOE will present the framing, approach, and initial results of the analysis. Participants will also hear perspectives from industry leaders and participate in breakout sessions to provide direct feedback. The input collected from this meeting, as well as other stakeholder engagement activities, will be used to help shape DOE’s industrial strategies.
